Swag Bucks

At the risk of sounding like an advertisement, I gotta tell you that I am loving me some Swag Bucks!  I am completely an amateur and I have already earned $30 in Amazon gift cards in a little over a month.  You are probably thinking, "big honkin' deal.  That is not very much money!"  Maybe you don't use the word "honkin'".  You should consider it.  And, you should consider using Swag Bucks. 

What is Swag Bucks? 
I am so glad you asked. Basically, it is a way to earn points by searching the web.  Don't even tell me you never "google" anything.  (That is a verb, right?)  Instead of using google (which I also love) you would use their search tool. You are randomly awarded points just by doing searches.  Searches that you were going to do anyway!  When you have racked up enough of these points you can cash them in for fabulous prizes.  I like to cash mine in for Amazon gift cards, but they also have products. My personal goal is to earn $5 a week in gift cards to help me cover Christmas gifts.  I did fall slightly short of that, but I also had some unexpected travel come up which kept me away from the computer (*gasp*) quite a bit.  To get that $5 gift card I need 450 points a week.  Completely doable if you also use some of the other ways to earn Swag Bucks.


Install the Swag Bucks Toolbar
This makes Swag Bucks your default search engine.  Now, don't freak out about this one.  At any time you can decide to switch over an use google (or any other) if you feel so inclined.  They also periodically post Swag codes in your toolbar. Look for the Red Envelope that says “From TSG” & it will typically have a number beside it if there is a new code.  To enter Swagcodes, go to the main Swag Bucks page & look under your “Account Summary” on the top right.  There is a box that says “Enter your Swag Code” & that’s where you enter any Swagcodes you find.


"Like" Swag Bucks on Facebook
Pretty self-explanatory.  They post codes sometimes on facebook (or games to earn codes).

Have friends & family sign up as your referrals - One of the best way to earn Swag Bucks is to invite your friends & family to sign up under your referral.  You can earn up to 100 points for every person who signs up as a referral.  This is a great way to earn those extra Swag Bucks without  having to do a thing! Mega Swag Bucks Fridays
Every Friday they increase the amount you can earn by searching.  I am not going to tell you to blow off work on Friday afternoons and goof off by spending your time doing searches, but it is not the worst way to kill time at work.  Hypothetically speaking, of course. 


Vote in the Daily Poll
Easy peesy (is that even a word???)  All you have to do is click on the daily poll and choose from the multiple choice options.  Takes just a nano second.  Or two seconds.  I am not really a mathy-sciency kind of girl...I don't know.


Install the Swag Bucks Widget on your Website or Blog
If you have a blog, this is a great way to encourage people to sign up as a referral & they will frequently feature extra Swagcodes on the Widget on your blog.

Trusted Surveys
There are surveys you can fill out to earn Swag Bucks.  Some of them are open to everyone and some you have to meet certain criteria to participate.  I don't spend much time on these, but I did get 50 Swag Bucks once for doing a survey.
Tasks
There are "jobs" you can do (proof read an article or look for info on the web) and get Swag Bucks.

Watch Videos on Swag TV (SBTV)
Oh yes, I love me some swag TV.  You clock on videos to watch and it increases your little "thermometer".  When you get to 10 videos, you get 3 Swag Bucks.  I will let you in on a little secret, you don't actually have to listen at all (I mute mine) and you don't have to watch the whole thing.  Usually about 40-50 seconds into the video (after a brief commercial) the little thermometer moves up.  Once it moves up, you can just click on the next video.  The videos are actually not bad.  They have categories like style, technology, health, pets, food, etc.  I actually do watch some of the videos.  However, I keep videos up all day.  Usually muted and minimizes in an alternate window.  I periodically switch over and click on the next video in between the other stuff I am doing on the computer.While typing out this blog I think I may have "watched" 20 videos. For every 10 videos, you earn 3 Swag Bucks.  You can do this 30 times a day, I think.  So, you could earn about 90 Swag Bucks a day.  I generally don't get to the max because I am just not that diligent.  However, I have been known to have my laptop in my lap "watching SBTV" while chilling with the family.  Easy bucks.  Anyway.....videos are how I earn many of my Swag Bucks.


Daily Deals
Each day they have daily deals from local and national retailers.  Often you can buy stuff through Groupon.  The deals are usually pretty good.

Play Games
They have games you can play online for free. You can randomly get Swag Bucks just for playing.  You can also use your Swag Bucks to enter tournaments for a chance to win big.Invite Your Friends

Each time you click on this and send a referral email to someone you earn a buck.  If you have already "liked" them on Facebook, it will be super easy to do this because all your friends will come up and you just click on the box next to their name.  Don't make the mistake I did!  Do NOT click on multiple names.  You will only get one buck no matter how many folks you click on.  Be smart and just pick one, but do it every day and pick a different person every day.

Coupons
You can print coupons right off the Swag Bucks site.  Every time you redeem one at the grocery store you earn 10 Swag Bucks. 

Promote Swag Bucks with Banners
If you look at the top right corner of my blog I have a cool little banner that folks can click on to get to Swag Bucks.  Once you sign up, you can get one two.  Everyone that is referred by you can be earning points for you.  Cool, huh?  When they get points for searches, you get points, too.  It doesn't get easier than that.  Please, please use me as your referral if you are going to sign up.  No pressure or anything, but it is how I am planning to pay for the kids Christmas.  :-)


Get Rid of Stuff
I have not done this either, but you can send in old cell phones and other stuff and they will give you some Swag Bucks.  You can also feel good about recycling this old stuff instead of letting the clutter accumulate in your house or fill a landfill.
